Who​ We Are

The Initiative for Agricultural Intervention and Developmental Integration (IAIDI) is a women-led non-governmental organization promoting resilient food systems, transformation and community resilience to reduce poverty in Nigeria. Operating in a context where smallholder farmers particularly women, youth, and other underserved groups, face poverty, insecurity, and climate-related shocks, IAIDI promotes innovative agrifood systems and business solutions that enable communities to adapt, recover, and grow sustainably. 

Insecurity across the Northeast, Northcentral, and parts of the Northwest has disrupted farming systems, displaced populations, and weakened market access, worsening food insecurity. IAIDI responds by going beyond short-term agricultural support to strengthen resilient livelihoods and inclusive agribusiness pathways. The organization supports farmers to transition from subsistence production to viable enterprises that generate income, create jobs, and contribute to national food security. 

Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (2020), IAIDI has been active since 2014 in improving agrifood systems, nutrition, inclusive markets, and equitable economic development in fragile and conflict-affected regions. The organization places strong emphasis on gender equality and social inclusion, equipping women, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities with the skills, resources, and networks needed to participate meaningfully in agricultural value chains. 

IAIDI has implemented targeted interventions in Benue and Nasarawa States. In Benue, it strengthened food security by training rural farmers in compost production and sustainable soil management in Ortese and Daudu (Guma LGA). In Nasarawa, it conducted community-based needs assessments and capacity building for smallholder rice farmers in Angwan Waje (Bassa Kokona). These initiatives delivered measurable improvements in productivity and local capacity. 

Through an integrated approach that combines sustainable agriculture, market systems development, and community-driven resilience, IAIDI works with communities, government institutions, development partners, and the private sector to foster inclusive agrifood systems growth. Its mission is to reduce poverty, strengthen resilience, and expand economic opportunities for vulnerable populations across Africa.
