CLIMATE CHANGE & ADAPTATION
Within IAIDI's Thematic Areas
Climate change adaptation is essential for building resilient
agricultural systems and protecting vulnerable farming communities from
climate-related shocks and stresses. IAIDI promotes climate-smart and
environmentally sustainable practices that strengthen the capacity of
smallholder farmers to adapt to changing weather patterns, drought, flooding,
land degradation, and other environmental challenges.
Through collaboration with
research institutions, government agencies, communities, and development
partners, IAIDI supports the adoption of climate-resilient technologies,
sustainable land and water management practices, agroforestry, and diversified
livelihood systems. The intervention also promotes access to climate
information services, early warning systems, and farmer training on adaptive
agricultural practices that improve productivity and reduce environmental
risks.
These
efforts contribute to improved food security, environmental sustainability,
increased resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive economic growth
across vulnerable and climate-affected communities.
